flowers flowers everywhere

i was just thinking about how flower arranging is not my forte, and how i'd love to take a class, but it's gotta be the right class, you know?

enter saipu. she's a genius- with color, composition, and materials. and she's hilarious. if you're interested, this winter she has a "wreath-making class, a second and maybe third rendition of the ever-popular ranunculus study, and - my personal favorite - a dutch masters class (you don't have to be a master of anything to participate.)".

on top of it all, she's delivering a free arrangement once a week to a reader. just cuz. she had me at hello.

Fredericks and Mae today

Fredericks and Mae is a design duo in Brooklyn, who's handmade arrows have been popping up in some of my favorite New York City stores lately and now I'm also  excited to share with you their beautiful masks and kites too. I'm not sure where you're going to wear these, but I'm sure you can figure it out!

YouTube Play

AP Photo/Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

This past weekend, the Guggenheim Museum exhibited 25 finalists from its YouTube Play collaboration that sought to discover the "most creative video in the world." Although the videos–judged by a panel including performance artist Laurie Anderson, the music group Animal Collective and filmmaker Darren Aronofsky–were only on view this weekend in NYC, they can still be seen online (of course) on YouTube.com/play. Here are a few of my favs:

Can't Wait Until Spring

Designer Guillaume Henry presented the Carven S/S 11 collection to the delight of all the “Downtown” girls looking for that perfect pairing of easy and stylish pieces.

The mix of everything from simple button downs to sophisticated dresses and minimal solids to quirky prints are proof that the hype within the fashion industry is well deserved and will soon spread, once the Spring collection hits stores.

In the mean time, you can purchase some of the Fall pieces at Opening Ceremony.

my softer side

i heart a unicorn, you should too!

worn and weathered

I was doing a search for deck chairs this week and came upon the charming store Ici et La based in Sydney. No prices listed, but for sure they must charge a bundle for these gorgeous french antiques. Is it just me or does everything from down under seem incredibly executed and curated? There are so many Australian stores I'd like to shop in, magazines I'd like to subscribe to, and photographers/designers I'd like to work with. This antique shop is no exception. I'm especially digging the twin bed, would love to get that for my daughter's bedroom.

And speaking of great antiques, there is a great article in NY magazine this week profiling design firm Roman and Williams, the couple behind the NYC Ace Hotel and the Standard. The Ace Hotel has my favorite bathroom in the entire city, and also the best cup of coffee (which isn't found in the bathroom but upstairs at Stumptown Coffee in the lobby). Did you know that they got their start on film sets like Addicted to Love (pictured)?

This weeks girl crush

Totally inspired by Jenny Kang this week.  After being introduced at a mutual friends party this week I learned that Lucky Mag's Associate Market Editor not only has a cool job, but that she is super sweet, makes really cool bracelets in her spare time and most importantly that she can dance!!! Yeah it was instant love for me!

But lets talk about her super rad bracelets, Bracelets by Dad. It's a side project that has landed her editorial in Nylon, NY Time Mag, Glamour and Vogue. Not too shabby!  Okay, okay...I'll share...

 The perfect stacking pieces!!!
