mjolk.

I love stumbling upon a beautiful store that fills its doors with unique and interesting things. Unfortunately, Mjolk is located in Toronto but sells its fine wares online via their site. Check out some of my favorite finds, gifts and wedding presents coming in the mail real soon.

Irreverent

After every fashion week, one of the top questions that friends and family ask is what famous people I saw. I'm not much of a celebrity follower, so I think I disappoint most people when I get excited about the fashion insiders, like Carine, Carine Roitfeld that is!

Now I have a reason to be even more excited, since the chic Vogue alum is getting ready to debut a new book, Irreverent on October 18th with personal and professional photographers and notes from her 30 year career.

This is the next book on my amazon wish list...

perfect fall day

my perfect fall saturday includes a 60 minute drive up the 9w to storm king. bring a picnic and your walking shoes (or rent a bike on the grounds). after you've enjoyed the gardens and modern sculpture, hit a local apple picking farm for cider, wine, and of course apples. have you had pink ladies? they are my favorite!

Go see: Samantha Hahn's A Thousand Ships

Samantha Hahn's NYC show opens today and it's on my list of things to do this month.  Love these contemporary, bright and lovely watercolors.  You can see her work on her site but I highly suggest heading to Hanahou and seeing it in person.

old is the new black

this weekend i visited the abby at mont saint michele, the stained glass there is awesome - for such an old church the designs remain super modern. i love when old and new collide.

Paris vs New York

If you happen to be in Paris this week, make sure you stop by Colette to see the final few days of Vahram Muratyam's witty series of simple, graphic artwork that contrasts Paris and New York. But don't worry, if you're sticking state side, you can grab a print here.

Your hair is SO fashion

I have to say this is one of the first fashion seasons in a while that I can't stop raving about the hair.  The runways were full of color, product, new ideas and some re-thinking of classic styles.  Here are just a few of my favorites:

Clay powder at Thakoon

Soaking wet at Alexander Wang

Tightly pinned and adorned w feathers at Jason Wu

Sixties height with a french twist at DVF

Edgy streaks of orange and red at Peter Som

A pretty and natural front twist at Jill Stuart
