Packaging, Please!

It's what on the inside that counts, naturally, but the packaging on some lines are just as inspiring as the product inside. Three brands I've fallen in love with--Tokyo Milk, Lollia and Love & Toast--are perfect examples. They're all created by designer Margot Elena, but each brand has its own distinctive "personality." Enjoy!

To the Floor

While I wait for the installer to hang a couple of curtains for two of my clients, I wanted to share some favorite images of floor length variety. In my opinion, I feel like the fastest way to incorporate some glamour and a little softness into a space is to hang curtains to the floor.

Birds of a Fether(ston)

Sometimes when I'm scanning through designer collections I'll see one that resonates with me and I keep the images on my desktop so I can repeatedly go back to them for inspiration. Well, recently it is Erin Fetherston's Resort 2011 collection that's plastered all over my desktop.  This is the girl I'd like to be at this moment in my life and this is my wardrobe. It's a simple palette with classic and easy silhouettes that mix feminine and menswear inspired looks with ease.

Surf Week: Two perspectives

In preparation for Surf Week I decided to contact two of my close friends who are actually part of the surf culture and ask them to send me images... and yes, they both happen to be photographers.

The first, Katherine Levin Sheehan, is married to a surfer, and sent me these great shots that document the anatomy of a daily surf run in her household. I love the intimate and everyday feeling of these shots. Click on her link to see all the shots.

The second, Thayer Allyson Gowdy, is an avid surfer who spends her life traveling and shooting all over the world. In her free time she is always running off to the small surf town of Sayulita in Mexico.  Here is an amazing group of photos she took of surfers and the lifestyle in surf towns.  Be still my heart and my inner surf betty.

Surf Week: When fashion meets the beach

When I grow up I want to be a surfer girl (probably will happen soon), and this is what I will be sporting.  Love Roxy, love Cynthia Rowley, love this wetsuit!

Seriously cute one piece and towel too!

SURF WEEK!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE surfing. Love, love, love it. It's hard as a motherf*cker but whenever I get the chance, I'm out there in the baby waves trying my a#% off. I've paddeled out on my (rented) long board in Maui, Mexico, Costa Rica and yes, even Long Island. I might only catch a wave or two, but riding those waves for even just a moment is pure joy!

As your resident beachy beauty girl, I've rounded up some favorite products to keep you in the surfer state of mind:
