The luck of the Irish
Happy St. Patty's Day!
In honor of today I am going to embrace green. It's never been a go-to color for me, but I'm starting to think it could grow on me.

Welcome to Hicksville!

Talk about having a rolling good time...hidden out in the Joshua Tree desert, the Hicksville Trailor Park & Artist Retreat opened in April 2010 as a place for artists to get away to create and collaborate. Nine uniquely designed trailors–everything from the Fifi to the Pioneer–are available for rent. There's even a music studio and film editing space, talk about a working vacation!

Next Stop Atlantic
If you are a New Yorker who has a love/hate relationship with the Metropolitan Transit Authority, you are going to enjoy these images from photographer Stephen Mallon and his latest project, Next Stop Atlantic.
Over 2500 subway cars have been part of a recycling program to rebuild underwater reefs along the eastern seabed and Stephen Mallon has captured surreal images of what feel like a commuters temporary home turn into a new home for sea life.

Nails are the New Birthday Cake?
Seems I'm on a nail kick...Saw these monsters and it reminded me of how people get photos printed onto the frosting of their bday cakes. Is this new personalized frosting or corporate logo temporary tattoo? NUTTY

you didn't hear it here first

i know i've seen this on pretty much every design blog out there, but just in case you don't spend hours like me trolling decorating sites and haven't heard, kelly wearstler has a new blog called my vibe my life. for me, the best thing about blogs/tweets/yadda yadda is being able to watch the creative process of designers that i admire. here are some cool shots she's posted- my favorites being her "vibe trays" where she keeps swatches and objects for projects.
