Instead of making these very different shoots as a case of Color vs. Goth, I'm loving how both are completely different yet AMAZING. Joan Smalls on the cover of Vogue Italia is so very Palm Springs meets 90s R&B (which could be awful. But no, it's bananas!) And the corpse Victorian vibe of Dominic Jones' look book is so perfectly dead-girl cool. (Shout out to Downton Abbey, m*thaf*ckas!)

Radically different, yet both awesome!

Stylish Friend
One of my best friends and co-worker, Anahita featured on the The Sartorialist.
She was stopped so many times by street photographers in this outfit because of the all white and amazing collar necklace.
How cute is she?..

All about the Details - NYFW
So it's begun. New York Fashion Week. This year I thought I was happily watching from afar, but my mans Ian Reid snapped these totally, completely inspiring pics at Gretchen Jones and now I'm feeling that Fashion Week pull....Take a look: The nails are out of this world. As in, way up there on my "awesome nails" list--and I've seen a lot of nails.
While the clothes are a beautifully neutral combination of patterns and textures, I can't help but be drawn to the Southwestern-style, native-inspired jewelry, the turquoise stone-inspired nails (obvi!) and the wispy, twisted updo. Oh, and the super-cool labyrinth-like set (very Ursula K. Le Guin fantasy novel).

JM Dry Goods
Found via one of my most favorite brands and blogs, Chance, JM Dry Goods is a killer new store that opened this past November in Austin (it has a sister store in Marfa too). Full of finds from south of the border, the store features fun, colorful things like Oaxacan Embroidered Blouses and Tunics, Campfire Soaps, and handmade Doefabco Bison wallets. This is a must stop on my next trip home!
