Into the Wild

I just returned from a week in the North Woods of Minnesota and it was heavenly. There's nothing like a little nature to reset your mind and body and allow you to sink into true relaxation. While the bustle of the city is energetic, creative and inspiring, I think people need to catch the sunset over a tree-filled horizon or feel the breeze off the lake every so often to find some balance, because nature itself can be just as inspirational.

How felicitous then, that the cabin-themed Free People July catalog would be waiting in my mailbox? As I flipped through its pages, I was instantly drawn to the model's untamed, wind-swept, roughly-braided hair. Backwoods beauty? Yes, please.

Naturally, I navigated around the Free People website and blog and discovered the photographer for the July catalog, Benjamin Alexander Huseby, also did a gorgeous shoot for Acne Paper Sweden (below & above).

Think I can pull off wearing fall leaves in my hair to fashion week? Will I be the belle of the fashion blogs? HA!
