Ever since I saw this image on a blog, (sorry, pre-blog, so can’t remember where it’s from) I’ve wanted to start to mix my modern/mod home pieces with Mexican and American Indian inspired folk art.

I love the contrast of sleek with rustic, so when I recently took a trip to Austin, Texas I was so excited to shop at Tesoros, an amazing store that’s full of folk arts and crafts from over 20 countries. I walked away with a few pieces to start my transformation, but plan on making a few purchases on their website very soon.

One of my purchases: Mini Rug

Another purchase: wool string with pom-poms

Future purchase: El Corazon
